Keep the season (and your family's eyes) safe and bright with these toy safety tips!

The holidays are a magical time, especially when you see the excitement on your child’s face as they unwrap that one special toy they’ve been wishing for. But with all the joy of gift-giving, it’s important to remember that approximately 11,000 toy-related eye injuries are reported every year.

👀 Toy Safety Tips to Protect Your Child’s Eyes

1. Check for sharp or ragged edges.
New toys designed for kids under 8 shouldn’t contain sharp points, but always examine toys yourself to make sure nothing feels unsafe.

2. Choose age-appropriate toys.
Follow the manufacturer’s recommended age range. Toys with projectiles, small parts, or rough edges may not be suitable for younger keiki.

3. Teach safe play habits.
When introducing a new toy, show your child how to use it safely and as intended. Supervised play goes a long way in preventing accidents.

4. Store toys properly.
Putting toys away after playtime helps prevent trips, falls, and accidental injuries around the house.
